What does a hula girl do in the cold?
Why monopoly & hot chocolate of course...but only white chocolate hot chocolate of course! And silver service! What a way to celebrate the independence of independence day.

Today is the first day of Savage Kitten's photo challenge. The subject of today is books. These are the books in my life right now.
If you are interested in joining the challenge, here is the list of subjects for the month. The only rule is you must take the photo on that day. Happy clicking!

How Lucky She Is!
Run, Kila, Run...
Perhaps this should have been on Kila's bucket list. Completion of her first running race. Not first in the race but a strong race/finish. A very satisfying feeling to complete her first 5 klm run. What's next? The 10 klm run in the Gold Coast Marathon perhaps?

A Creative Mind
Kila got creative today with some magical inspiration. In challenging times it is very difficult to be in a creative head space. Just making a start somewhere is definitely the first step...which has led Kila to the second step...the journey is looking great from where she sits.

New Start
Sharing the beginning of a new chapter with friends is very precious. To see their growth and their joy and feel the excitement of that beginning is exhilirating!
Trust Your Intuition
January 31-So part of the journey this year is about getting a job. So, without hesitation, Kila accepted a part time job in a photo shop. Monday was the start. Turned up on time, only to find no-one else had. The day was long and slow and very dirty and unorganised. No fridge for my lunch, no lunch half hour as promised, a dirty dusty place for a photo lab.
Returning for the second day, the bus was 10 minutes(which turned into 15 minutes) late. It was the start of a very interesting day; culminating in my resignation by 1.45pm. The original plan was to sleep on the decision and to try to tough it out at least for a month. Intuition and values kicked in and there was no sleeping on it. Decision made on the spot. Hyperventilating (almost), and feeling empowered at the same time. Thank you intuition! You are wonderful and you stand me in good stead!

Bit by Bit
Some small celebrations in the world of Kila. Yesterday she went for her first swim in the ocean since the accident. It was refreshing, invigorating & not to mention cooling. Today is going to be a day by the pool. She hasn't the courage to get behind the wheel yet, but it will come.

Practice makes Perfect
Well this was Kila's adventure yesterday before her personal photographer took a tumble.
On the beautiful beach at Cabarita in some perfect white wash for beginners, she got up three times; briefly but still she claims it.

If you don't like blood look away!
Well the lively Kila was busy sleeping last night whilst I was making a lengthy stopover at the hospital. Yes, that fun, fit and healthy start to my year started out as a ride on a scooter down the hill & finished with a 5 hour visit to hospital.
Broken wrist, with possible operation to wire bone back together, 3 stitches to me chin, black eye and very sore ribs. Kila will be laying low for a few weeks until the fracture heals & she can get mobile again.

Happy New Year
Haul'oli Makahiki Hou (or Happy New Year!) and here's to 2012 being a very fulfilling year.
If you were a follower of my blog last year you may have noticed I lost my way as a blogger. The journey I set out on at the start of 2011 in many ways did not take the path that I was expecting. Some of the challenges that I didn't expect challenged my strength and resolve and in fact still are doing that. Some of the experiences I didn't expect took me amazing places I had never been before my whole life; physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually.
I realised from these things that on our path of life sometimes we are sent temptations and challenges to test our resolve, so we can discover our strength, so that we can grow from learning and to test how we deal with challenges. That's just life.
For 2012, I am aiming to embrace a renewed belief that we are on whatever path we are meant to be on to learn the lessons we need to learn. Fight as we may to alter the path, it is fruitless. I am also hoping to actively live my life to the fullest; a fun, fit and healthy life. And so begins the adventures of Kila (pronounced Key-lah).
Kila is the Hawaiian version of Jill. In Hawaiian it means **blushing** good looking/beautiful. Kila is set to appear in many photos this year of the places she goes and the things she learns along the way; the thoughts and things that inspire and motivate her.
With hope, inspiration, faith and love hopefully Kila's adventures for the year will unfold before your eyes as she hulas her way through the year that is 2012.
