Life Is Good

I love being a tourist. Tonight we went to Sushi Train in Surfers with some friends and afterwards we walked through Surfers & got an ice cream. The memories came flooding back!

What a load of hype!

Don't get me wrong, I love a good wedding. I love to get frocked up, do the make up & hair & go watch some good friends make a long term commitment to life together. But this hype over the royal wedding has been fully blown out of proportion. Apparently Kate carries the same bag as Diana. When I looked at the pics, I didn't see any similarities besides the fact that they both had handles & pockets. Enough already! Thank goodness for social media, long hot baths & scrapbooking! And did I mention Easter bunnies!

I Love Ironing

Really? Do I look like I love ironing? Is that why I've spent a large part of the evening tweeting and Facebooking instead of ironing?

A Hot Air Balloon Kind of Day

This morning, on my way home from gym, I spotted this in the sky.  It was such a crystal clear morning and the sight of a hot air balloon on the horizon (or almost above my house) excites me to no end.  So when I got home, I raced inside to grab my camera to attempt to take a snap.  And it really did turn out to be a Hot Air Balloon kind of day.  When I see a hot air balloon in the sky, to me it means the day's weather is going to be superb!  The more balloons, the better the day!

It's Happening Anyway

Last year I had all these challenging goals for myself which in part I achieved. This year I have one goal and that is to discovery more about myself. It's amazing how many of last year's goals that I didn't fulfil are coming to fruition this year just by setting out to discover myself (oh and a little less stress than last year helps as well!)
Tired though! Sometimes discovering yourself can be so exciting you forget what time it is!

Magic Scent

Whilst delivering letters this morning I came across some late blooming frangipanis. I carried one with me so I could smell it lots. I love frangipanis!

Mourning the Loss

I have always kept a bedtime routine for Jacob that included me lying with him for 5 or so minutes to talk about our day right before he went off to dreamland. It served very well at getting all those little secrets out as that was the time he liked to share his thoughts & feelings. Well, he just told me he doesn't need me to put him to bed. I will miss our great fun chats at the end of our days (and I'll have to come up with a new way to get to his heart!)

A World Away

My sister & Brother in Law & their family live in Perth. With me living on the Gold Coast, I rarely get to see them. I miss them all dearly, so when we get a chance like tonight I would move heaven and Earth to take advantage of that opportunity. My Brother in Law was on business in Brisbane so we went up after school for a few drinks & a bite to eat before he flew back to Perth. It was a lovely afternoon.

A Good Book

I've been keeping some late nights this week. All due to a good book! Dean Koontz "The Husband". A chilling book! Finished it to tonight, and so onto my next book.

Domestic Goddess!

After our cleaning lady resigned, I decided to keep the same routines. Before, I dedicated Tuesdays to my business, now I take the day off to clean, etc. Etc today consisted of cooking my husband a beautiful fresh healthy lunch (cos he feels like he's coming down with something & can't bring himself to have a green smoothie) and cooking meals for one of my fellow volunteers who is having chemotherapy & radiation treatment 5 days a week at present. I am a little surprised at how rewarding my day feels already as I am definitely NOT a lover of cleaning and as for a lavish lunch for my hubby, well let's just say he better not get used to it!
Oh, and I created a new family recipe. Here it is:
Sausage Pasta
6 or 7 sausages(I used chicken)
A tin of tomato soup
1 onion, chopped
2-3 garlic cloves, crushed
1 cup of chicken stock
1 small-medium zucchini, finely grated
1/4 cup tomato paste
Cooked pasta to serve
Brown the sausages. Remove from pan and slice into thin rounds. Sauté onion and garlic until onion is clear, return sausages to the pan along with zucchini and sauté until zucchini wilts. Add tomato paste and combine. Tip in tin of soup and enough stock to make your desired consistency. Simmer until sausages are cooked through. Serve with cooked pasta.
Here is what it looked like:

The Thrill of It

Today I had a totally awesome day(is it ok to declare that?)! What made it awesome? The interaction I had with people including myself; coaching sessions, a three and a half hour mediation (not meditation!) meeting as support person, my son's excitement at getting himself to band all by himself & also at being chosen to play tuba as well as trumpet in the Stage Band, eating healthy (no white Choc eclairs!) and let's see if I can even make it to bed by my bedtime: 10.30!
