First Class!
Today's inspiration:
Upgrade your vices: drink better wines, splurge on better seats at concerts and eat "luxury" foods from time to time.
How good does it feel 2 eat luxury food. It is such an experience for the senses. I don't drink wine, I drink vodka. Only Smirnoff though. If I'm going to have a drink, it might as well be good! I might have a ponder today on what other vices I can upgrade.

Scary!
Today's inspiration:
Try the scariest ride in a theme park (and take a sickness bag).
I think the scariest ride I've ever been on would have to be Lethal Weapon at Movieworld. I can think of a couple that would b scarier. I might put them on my list!

Gossip!
Today's inspiration:
Give your friends something to gossip about.
When I first read this, I was a little scared as gossip to me is negative. Then I thought it could be something as simple as having a public display of affection with your partner at a party. Your friends might gossip about how in love you are. Or buying and wearing an outfit that is a little outside your normal wear. There are lots of good ways (if that's what your looking for) to get your friends gossiping!

Party!
Today's inspiration: Party all night long & through the next day without stopping to sleep.
How long could u last? For me, it would definitely depend on whether alcohol was involved or not. I like the idea of partying all night. It's been a long time since I did. I wonder how long it would take me to recover!

Scandalous
Today's inspiration is:
Do something scandalous that will shock your descendants one day.
I know my Mum managed to do this and it still makes me smile. Actually, there are 2 times that I can think of. And I admire her all the more for them.

New Inspiration
If you are, or should I say were, a regular reader of this blog, you will know by now the regular postings are almost but non-existent. Now there are a couple of reasons for that of which I don't think this is the forum to share them; perhaps one day. I have been searching for inspiration to get me moving along in a new direction that I can share and I'm happy to say, I've finally found it. On an amazingly relaxing recent trip to Byron Bay, I happened upon an awesome book which has inspired me to begin my new direction for this blog.
The book is called "Things To Do Now That You're 40" by Rebecca Hall. The ideas and concepts really are for all ages, in
particular women although I'm sure they could be appropriate for men also. So I look forward to sharing some inspiration with you as time permits.
The first chapter of the book is ideas to challenge yourself, so here goes:
Drive through a foreign city in an open topped sports car, feeling the wind in your hair.
Foreign could equal one you've never been to before. Where do you get an open topped sports car? Rent it or take one for a test drive. Remember, the sky's the limit!

The Right Advice
I have had some serious writers block of late (just in case you didn't notice). I put it out there today on Facebook and got some great ideas about taking a walk on the beach and just relaxing and letting go to get back into the flow. So I did. I'm not sure the writers block has fully passed but this beautiful sunset was enough to motivate me into a blog post, at least!

Don't Do This!
This is how not to store your photos. I have a friend who helped me recently and in return I have offered to create him an album about his vintage car that he restored. When I saw the photos in this album, I almost cried. If u have any of these albums, take your photos out and throw the albums away. These albums damage photos very quickly.

What A Star!
Well, in my own lunch box maybe. When I got to gym this morning I was presented with my photo on the "Member of the Month" board as the member for July.
There was a little blurb underneath that announced I received it for my hard work in weight loss and my dedication to attending gym and also that it was always a pleasure to have me on the circuit. I almost teared up.... Great jump start to what's going to be another awesome day!

A Fresh Clean Home
After a big spring (winter) clean yesterday, I have a renewed joy for firing up the oil burner. My favorite mix is 6 drops of Patchouli & 3 drops of Lavender. This morning, mixed with the smell of the lemon essential oil I use to deter spiders, the house smells very clean and fresh.

Good Company
There is nothing quite like chilling (or in our case warming) at your friend's place. It's comforting like a big warm hug. Not to mention good for the soul. It's fantastic to kind of lock yourself away from the world for a few hours with a like minded soul.
Just what I needed today.

The Things I Do!
See this? This is a green smoothie in my blender. It's what I make myself when I get that little voice in my head saying "I think I'm coming down with something". It's off the diet I know, but only marginally. And I figured it's worth it for my family's sake as I am a really crap sick person. I'm usually ok for a couple of days, then I'm over it and need to get active again. So I prefer to try my best to restore my health. For more info on green smoothies you can see another one of my blog posts about green smoothies here Green smoothies

Not The Lemon
I forgot to mention that on my diet I am not doing the lemon thing first thing in the morning. You see, you are supposed to have half a lemon squeezed in hot water before you do anything else. The last time I adopted that in my day, I found the enamel on my teeth started to erode and they (my teeth) got very sensitive. Not for me!

Dieting Tip
Got caught out today a couple of times unprepared. I was a representative today at an under 8's day at a school so I packed an apple and water thinking I was well prepared. As I got a lift into the venue, I realised when it was too late that my food was still in the car. I had only the bare necessities on my person as I needed both hands free and I realised at morning tea time I had no teabags. Had to have black tea instead of green tea and when I got back to the car at 12.45 the apple didn't touch the sides. Then tonight I took my son to guitar, had been so busy all afternoon I had no time to eat and realised (when I got to guitar and had time to breathe!) that my stomach was rumbling louder than my game music coming from my iPhone and not a celery stick or yoghurt cup in sight! Lessons learned!

Patriotic
I don't really follow any sort of footy. You may have read recently that I have decided to support the new Gold Coast Suns. And that's the most I've ever looked like a supporter in my life (other than Saturday morning basketball for Under 12's!).
But there's something about State of Origin. Every year when it comes around I'm all of a sudden vocally proud to be a Queenslander!

Diet Support
I sit on the chaise part of our couch (when I have the opportunity to sit of course). Next to the chaise is an insert that includes a hidden compartment for remotes and two drink holders. My son, who eats his Easter treats very slowly has kindly placed this gigantic egg on top of the hidden compartment at my left elbow. Nothing like a bit of diet support!

Too Good To Be True!
Well, I'm not sure if you read my post on my other blog about starting a diet! It's actually a very healthy eating plan but let's face it, from what I was eating before, it's a diet. So I started yesterday and I weighed myself. Out of curiosity, as the diet has made some big promises about weight loss, I weighed myself this morning. In one day, I have lost one whole kilo. I know it's too early to tell overall what's going to happen however to me that is substantial. Normally it would take me three weeks to lose that! Very motivating.

Getting Ready
Well as part of getting ready for the diet changes I'll be making over the next couple of weeks, I decided to walk to the grocery store this afternoon instead of driving. I tell you, you don't notice a couple of extra kilos when you gradually put it on but try going to the shops & buying a couple of kilos of fruit & then walk home. You sure notice a couple of extra kilos then!

Sugar Addiction!
In an attempt to get off the sugar addiction treadmill from the weekend I gave dessert a miss tonight. Instead I had a bowl of fruit. It consisted of watermelon, rock melon & this gorgeous fruit, dragonfruit. We have them growing in the garden. Aren't they a great looking fruit?

A Teaser
Well here it is before it goes into the fridge. Another batch of white choc rocky road. So easy to make, so delicious. It used to be made as a teacher's present at the end of the year. Then it also became a Christmas favorite. After this weekend it might become my signature dish! LOL! My mouth is watering. I hope some of this makes it to our retreat, Carmel.

What I Love About Today
For me, Mother's Day enjoyment comes from feeling relaxed and calm, having no expectations of anyone or anything, being totally present all day, not having to be responsible for any food or fun choices, just turning up and soaking it all in. I enjoy the presents of course, but that's not what makes my day. Enjoyment also comes from being able to choose the 'tasks' I want to complete (as my husband and my son treat me like a queen for the day!) and spending time doing what I love all day; reading, sleeping, teasing, laughing! I hope you enjoyed every minute of your day too.

The Worst Service I've Ever Had
Today, I went to replace my licence that I misplaced on Wednesday. After having a trip to Queensland Transport only to find I didn't have adequate ID, then returning only to be greeted by a customer service person who wanted to pick an argument with me, no matter what I did. An absolute 'Right Fighter' to quote Dr Phil. Well let's see how 'right' she is when she has to sit down and write me that written apology I requested in my complaint letter!

Lovely Life
I've been having such a lovely life, I forgot to do the exercises in my Mind Body & Spirit diary. Let's see what is
in there for May...oh interesting! It says Social Networking websites aren't that great for cultivating friendships(I totally disagree) and it suggests I select four people I cherish and send each one a handwritten note using beautiful stationery. That I can do....I'll put it on my 'to do' list.

What a load of hype!
Don't get me wrong, I love a good wedding. I love to get frocked up, do the make up & hair & go watch some good friends make a long term commitment to life together. But this hype over the royal wedding has been fully blown out of proportion. Apparently Kate carries the same bag as Diana. When I looked at the pics, I didn't see any similarities besides the fact that they both had handles & pockets. Enough already! Thank goodness for social media, long hot baths & scrapbooking! And did I mention Easter bunnies!
